RADIENCE™ Radiopaque Compounds
When blended with medical polymers, radiopaque fillers - such as barium sulfate, bismuth subcarbonate, bismuth oxychloride, and tungsten - enhance medical device visibility under X-ray technology. This enables physicians to accurately track and navigate catheter devices through vascular pathways during diagnostic and interventional procedures. PEAK is proud to offer tailored radiopaque solutions for a range of medical device applications.
RADIENCE™ Radiopaque Compounds are custom formulated using a blend of medical grade polymers, suited to your individual application, with filler loading levels ranging from 10% - 80% by weight. Custom colors and other processing and performance-enhancing additives are also available based on device requirements and project goals.

WHITe room manufacturing
RADIENCE™ compounds are manufactured in a dedicated white room environment to provide the highest level of quality control. Our 1,000 square foot white room is climate controlled and equipped with a 32mm co-rotating twin-screw extruder, which is dedicated to medical material processing.
This medical compounding line offers multiple feeders for dispersion of highly filled materials and is suited to process commodity resins (including PE, PP, PS and ABS), engineering polymers (including PEBA, PA, 11/12, and PC) and high-temperature materials (including PEEK, PAEK, PEKK, PSU, and PEI).
market Applications
Radiopaque compounds are most commonly suited for Class II medical device applications, including those used in the Minimally Invasive Surgical (MIS) market and those devices in contact with blood or bodily fluid for less than 24 hours. These applications often include catheter tubing, guide wire tubing, catheter sheaths, marker bands and other component parts. Market segments often include diagnostic and interventional cardiology, neurology and urology.
